The Grand Prix chair was introduced by Fritz Hansen at the Designers’ Spring Exhibition at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen, in 1957. Later that year, the chair was displayed at the Triennale in Milan where it received the Grand Prix: the finest distinction of the exhibition. Grand Prix comes in oak and walnut veneer with clear lacquer as well as in coloured ash. Front upholstery or full upholstery is available in a wide range of fabrics. The shell is steam bent in one piece of pressure moulded sliced veneer made out of 9 layers of veneer lined with Indian cotton on the inside. The base is made of 4 non-stackable wooden legs A range of materials, colours and finishes are available in a number of combinations. Prices may vary. Please enquire for full details.
