Sibirjak Lounge Chair with Ottoman - Sibirjak is a contemporary lounge chair made from birch bark. This fascinating natural material is not only flexible, soft, water­repellent, and antibacterial, but also breathable, durable, and strong. Despite these unique characteristics, as a material for everyday objects, it is gradually being forgotten. In response, Sibirjak answers the question of how to revive an ancient tradition while reinterpreting a conventional handicraft with contemporary techniques. The chair and ottoman combination emphasizes the material’s aesthetics, combining traditional skills with modern processing. The horizontal alignment of the bark underlines the leather­like properties of the material, is welcoming, and offers a wide comfortable seat. The textile details and reduced geometric frame form a strong contrast to the natural birch bark. The use of birch bark in Sibirjak is in strong contrast to the material’s usual folkloric associations, while at the same time reinvigorating traditional handicraft by demonstrating new design possibilities in a contemporary context. Svetoch is great at setting the mood and ensuring a cosy and intimate ambience. The lamp comes in three sizes, each available both as a pendant and floor lamp. Unlike in traditional craftsmanship, we make our products from the naturally velvety back of the birch bark. We deliberately chose the lighter inner layers of the bark to celebrate the graphic grain and colouring of each piece. Every object is thus one of a kind, representing a unique product of nature, which is emphasised by contrasting colour accents. Taburet Stool - Taburet is a stool with a three­dimensional seat made of birch bark strips, sewn and fixed together on a steel frame. The stable, light, and elastic meshwork creates an optical illusion – appearing different from every angle – cushioning the stool in a decorative and comfortable way. Unlike in traditional craftsmanship, we make our products from the naturally velvety back of the birch bark. This is a modern adaptation of conventional processing and is used extensively in the design of the stool.
