Yumi Floor Lamp

Yumi means bow in Japanese. Today, this simple shape is re-interpreted by Shigeru Ban for FontanaArte. Its absolute harmony is destined to turn into a new universal classic. Yumi is both delicate and strong: an essential sign that meets a resistant and light structure. 170 LEDs are discreetly sunk into the structure of the lamp minimising the use of space and further enhancing the continuous line of the bow design. Choosing materials that are resistant to high temperatures made it possible to sink the wiring entirely inside the stem during the production process. Yumi spreads a warm downward glow which is ideal forcreating an intimate atmosphere. It adds character to different interiors with its distinct but subtle personality. Regina Table Lamp - Inspired by the game of chess with their sinuous shapes, Re and Regina are the key characters of the chessboard. Their profiles stand out clearly in the white light diffused by opalescent glass. Real individuals, they play in pairs alternating spheres, cylinders and rings of light. Vertical the King (Re), horizontal the Queen (Regina). They can be placed next to each other or in different spots in the same room, be used as floor or table lamps, on a coffee table or a desk, both Re and Regina have the presence to create a context. The dimmer allows to modulate the light making it a surreal element with different degrees of intensity: an element of representation that releases energy in space when the light is bright, abstract and restful when the light is soft and low. Glass sculptures during the day in environments illuminated by natural light. Re and Regina are inspired by the history of art, from Cosmè Tura to the Flemish interiors of Jan Van Eych to the conceptual imagery of Marcel Duchamp who plays chess as a lifestyle. Re and Regina are Cartesian axes of a universe that crosses ages and cultures. In 2020 FontanaArte reintroduces these glass lamps as a sign of the expressive wealth contained in the great repertory of ideas that is the FontanaArte catalogue and, most importantly an homage to the talent of an artist who had a gift for calibrating the formal tension of a utilitarian object on a quest for unity among the arts. Tropico Table Lamp - The "shape of light" is the central theme of this project by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, which began with the Equatore family of lamps, presented in 2017 and now expanded to include other finishes, and continues with the new Meridiano and Tropico. Forms of glass and metal that collect, contain and diffuse light in space. Passing between opaline, coloured and transparent layers, emphasised by the refined curves and the magic of blown glass, the light is free to create surprising and fascinating effects, patterns and moods. Setareh Suspension Lamp - This is the name of the family of lighting fixtures that Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect working in Milan, has designed for the first time for FontanaArte. Setareh was born of the idea of giving form to light. The lamp is composed of a sphere magically suspended within a thin metal structure. The play of circular masses and trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The light from the sphere is diffused into the surrounding space, illuminating the frame. The reflections of the metal render the luminous field visible, space influenced by light, by its aura. The result is a collection of lighting elements, available in tabletop and suspension versions, of extraordinary poetic grace. Setareh takes on new dimensions: elongated, with either two or three spherical elements that work separately or together. Its vocation is the illumination of large spaces, with double-height ceilings or otherwise ample enough to accomodate expansive compositions of multiple elements.
